Environment, hydrologist Castelli: "Correct risk perception leads to correct decisions and actions"

“Risk perception is fundamental because correct decisions derive from the correct perception of it, which can be made by the individual citizen, in relation to his behavior, can be decisions by technicians who must operate to reduce risks or can also be more general political decisions that must be based on a correct perception of risk. Risk is not simply the danger, it is also the consideration of the impacts that a danger can give and perceive”. With these statements, Fabio Castelli, professor of hydrology and hydraulic constructions at the University of Florence, spoke in the context of the meeting “Return meets businesses: technology to support risk management”, held at the Polytechnic University of Milan. An event dedicated to the dialogue between research and the business world on the role of technology in the prevention, monitoring and management of environmental risks.
